Our Approach

How every engagement begins

Regardless of which service you are pursuing, the process at Khaolak Family follows the same foundational pattern. We listen before we advise. We document before we proceed. We check before we close.

1

First Contact

You reach out by phone, email, or through the website. We respond within one working day.

2

Initial Conversation

An appointment is arranged. We listen to your situation and ask clarifying questions at a pace that suits you.

3

Written Summary

Every consultation produces a written summary with options. You take that away and consider without pressure.

4

Your Decision

You decide whether to continue. If so, we begin the relevant service. If not, the first appointment is complete in itself.

First appointment

Service One

Family Matters First Appointment

A first appointment for clients who have not yet sought legal counsel on a family matter and would value an unhurried conversation in a comfortable setting. We listen carefully, ask clarifying questions, and discuss the matter in its full context.

The appointment closes with a written summary of the conversation and a measured opinion on the available paths forward. Many clients use this appointment to gain clarity, while others choose to continue with further engagement at a pace they find comfortable.

  • Full, unhurried discussion of your situation
  • Clarifying questions to ensure full understanding
  • Written summary of conversation provided after
  • Considered opinion on the options open to you
  • No obligation to continue — the appointment is complete

Service Two

Pre-Nuptial & Post-Nuptial Agreements

Preparation of pre-nuptial and post-nuptial agreements for couples who wish to record their understanding regarding property and financial matters. The work begins with a joint consultation, after which we prepare a draft agreement reflecting the couple's wishes.

The draft is then reviewed together in a follow-up appointment, refined as needed, and finalised for signature. Approached as a thoughtful conversation rather than a defensive transaction, the work tends to leave couples with greater clarity and ease.

  • Joint consultation to understand both parties' wishes
  • Draft agreement prepared in English and Thai
  • Review appointment to refine and confirm
  • Finalised for signature at your pace
  • Conducted without pressure — a collaborative process

Adoption counsel

Service Three

Adoption & Recognition Counsel

Counsel for families pursuing adoption within Thailand or seeking legal recognition of adoptions completed elsewhere. The work includes review of the applicable requirements, preparation of the necessary documentation, coordination with relevant authorities, and ongoing support through the timeline of the process.

Each engagement is approached with appropriate care given the personal weight of these matters, and we keep the family informed at each stage so they can move forward with confidence.

  • Review of applicable Thai adoption requirements
  • Preparation of all required documentation
  • Coordination with Thai family courts and authorities
  • Support for international adoption recognition
  • Family kept informed at every stage
